The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program is administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) to provide financial assistance to eligible aged, disabled and blind individuals. States have the option to provide additional assistance through the State Supplement Program. The Commonwealth has opted to provide this additional assistance.

The State Supplement Program (SSP) is authorized under M.G.L. chs. 6 and 118A and applicable federal law pertaining to the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program and agreements with the Commissioner of Social Security.

111 CMR 10.00 is promulgated and implemented in accordance with M.G.L. c. 30A, and in accordance with other applicable General Laws of the Commonwealth.
