Section 460.115 - Approval of Encapsulants for the Containment of Lead-based Paint

Only those encapsulant products that meet the standards set forth in American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards, E1795-04 (Standard Specification for Non-reinforced Liquid Coating Encapsulation Products for Leaded Paint in Buildings), E 1796-03 (Standard Guide for Selection and Use of Liquid Coating Encapsulation Products for Leaded Paint in Buildings), or E 1797 (Standard Specification for Reinforced Liquid Coating Encapsulation Products for Leaded Paint in Buildings) are approved. Use of approved encapsulants must conform to the State Program educational and training materials and in accordance with the manufacturer's directions.
