Title 105 CMR 170.000 - Emergency Medical Services System
Section 170.225 - Inspection

(A) Ambulance Service Inspection. Agents of the Department may visit and inspect an ambulance service at any time, including:

(1) The premises of the ambulance service including the headquarters, garage or other locations;

(2) The storage space for linen, equipment and supplies at any premises of the ambulance service;

(3) All records of the ambulance service including, but not limited to, employee application forms, policies and procedures; dispatch reports, incident and accident reports, patient care and patient care reports reports; information relating to complaints registered with the service, and all other records, memoranda of agreement and affiliation agreements required by 105 CMR 170.000; and

(4) Any vehicle, equipment and medications used by the service.

(B) EFR Service Inspection. Agents of the Department may visit and inspect an EFR service at any time, including:

(1) All records pertaining to the provision of EMS services including, but not limited to, employee records, policies and procedures for EMS personnel; dispatch and EMS response reports; incident and accident reports and patient care reports; memoranda of agreements and affiliation agreements required by 105 CMR 170.000; and information relating to complaints regarding provision of EMS by the service; and

(2) The EMS-related equipment and medications used by the service.

(C) If upon inspection deficiencies are found to exist a service may at the discretion of the Department be licensed upon presentation of a timely written acceptable plan of correction, as described in 105 CMR 170.710.
