(A) The hospice shall have a governing body that assures full legal authority and responsibility for determining, implementing and monitoring policies governing the hospice's total operation.
(B) The governing body shall designate an administrator who shall be responsible on a day-today basis for the management and operation of the hospice program.
(C) The governing body shall be responsible for:
(1) managing the
fiscal affairs and operation of the hospice program;
(2) ensuring quality care and
services;
(3) ensuring compliance
of the hospice with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and
regulations;
(4) providing for
coordinated, interdisciplinary hospice services available 24 hours a day, seven
days a week;
(5) ensuring adequate
staff and resources to provide continuity of care based on the needs of the
persons served;
(6) adopting,
amending and implementing by-laws;
(7) adopting the hospice budgets and
controlling assets and funds; and
(8) establishing committees as
appropriate.
