A. A trauma center shall have:

(1) An organized trauma research program with a designated physician director and documented research plan;

(2) Regular meetings of the research group; and

(3) Evidence of productivity through peer review.

B. The Trauma Center shall have:

(I) Proposals reviewed by an institutional review board;

(2) Presentations at local, regional, or national meetings;

(3) Publications in peer-reviewed journals on an average of seven per year; and

(4) Clinical research trials designed to enhance the trauma system's ability to resuscitate, stabilize, and treat trauma patients in the most cost-effective manner.
