If, during the investigation of a death under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, a communicable disease is identified, it shall be reported by the medical examiner in writing within 24 hours to the health officer in the appropriate jurisdiction and to the deputy State health official, on the forms supplied by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, in accordance with COMAR 10.06.01.04B.
