The people of Maryland are entitled to the highest level of competency, reliability, and accuracy that reasonably may be expected from a medical laboratory or crime laboratory. It is the intent of this subtitle to protect the public and individual health by requiring a medical laboratory or crime laboratory to employ qualified personnel and to operate under reliable procedures, effective quality control and quality assurance programs, and qualified supervision.
