Section 09.12.01.38 - Kitchen Equipment Boilers

A. Kitchen equipment boilers are exempt from the requirements of CSD-1, except that they shall have:
(1) An emergency
shut-off switch located outside of the main point of access and egress to the
kitchen, unless the installer can establish that this location would allow
access by the general public that could be detrimental to the operation of the
boiler; and
(2) A lockable service
disconnect.
B. Control and safety devices for kitchen equipment boilers shall comply with:
(1) The code under which they were
constructed and stamped; and
(2)
The recommendations and requirements in the manufacturer's installation
manual.
C. If a conflict between §B(1) and (2) of this regulation occurs, the code under which they were constructed and stamped shall be followed.
