Section 09.12.01.37 - Miniature Boilers

A. Miniature boilers are exempt from the requirements of CSD-1, except that they shall have:
(1) An emergency shut-off switch located
outside of the main point of access and egress to the boiler room, unless the
installer can establish that this location would allow access by the general
public that could be detrimental to the operation of the boiler; and
(2) A lockable service disconnect.
B. Control and safety devices for miniature boilers shall comply with:
(1) The
code under which they were constructed and stamped; and
(2) The recommendations and requirements in
the manufacturer's installation manual.
C. If a conflict between §B(1) and (2) of this regulation occurs, the code under which they were constructed and stamped shall be followed.
