Section 09.10.04.13 - Denerved Horses or Horses Subjected to a Cryosurgical Procedure

A. A denerved horse or a horse subjected to a cryosurgical procedure shall be registered with the chief veterinarian on a form provided by the Commission for that purpose.
B. A horse, denerved or subjected to a cryosurgical procedure below the ankle, may be entered and shall be permitted to race if:
(1) The horse is
registered as such with the chief veterinarian not later than 2 hours before
post time of the race for which it is entered;
(2) The fact that a horse has been denerved
or subjected to a cryosurgical procedure is so stated on the foal certificate
of the horse and certified by the practicing veterinarian who performed the
procedure; and
(3) The horse is
placed on a list of horses denerved or subjected to a cryosurgical procedure
which is posted on the bulletin board in the Racing Secretary's
office.
C. A horse may not be registered as denerved or subjected to a cryosurgical procedure if, in fact, the horse has not been denerved or subjected to cryosurgical procedure.
