Section 411-103-3 - Payments by Maine Public Employees Retirement System

1. The retirement system shall make payments of death or retirement benefits or of refunded contributions only as directed by statutes and rules or by a qualified domestic relations order.
2. If benefits are payable pursuant to a qualified domestic relations order that meets the requirement of a domestic relations order as defined in section 414(p) of the Internal Revenue Code, then the applicable requirements of section 414(p) of the Internal Revenue Code will be followed by the retirement system.
