Section 146-3-1 - Preparation of New Certificate of Birth

When any person born out of wedlock in Maine is legitimated by the marriage of his natural parents and the acknowledgment of his father, the state registrar shall prepare a new certificate of birth for the legitimated person upon application and presentation of satisfactory evidence of the facts.
