Section 144-332-18-2 - ELIGIBILITY FOR PRESUMPTIVE ELIGIBILITY DETERMINATIONS BY HOSPITALS

Current through 2024-38, September 18, 2024

1. Hospital presumptive eligibility determinations must be limited to persons who meet all eligibility requirements for coverage under one of the following eligibility groups included in this Part:

A. Children under age 21 (Part 3, Section 2.1)

B. Parents/caretaker relatives (Part 3, Section 2.2)

C. Pregnant women (Part 3, Section 2.3)

D. Expansion Adults (Part 3, Section 2.4 )

E. Former foster care children (Part 3, Section 3.2- C)

F. Women who are in treatment for breast and cervical cancer (Part 9, Section 2 )

G. Family Planning (Part 9, Section 4) - Effective retroactive to October 1, 2016, upon approval from CMS.

2. Children under age 21, parents/caretaker relatives, expansion adults, former foster care children, and women who are in treatment for breast and cervical cancer are allowed to be determined presumptively eligible only once in a 2-year period.

3. Pregnant women are allowed one presumptive eligibility determination for each pregnancy.
