Chapter 325 - 1987 FLOOD RECOVERY POLICY
Section 144-325-III - PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Current through 2024-38, September 18, 2024

Following a major disaster declaration by the President, a number of State and Federal disaster assistance programs were made available to victims suffering uninsured loss or damage to personal and real property in designated disaster areas. This program is not intended to indemnify all disaster losses or to purchase items or services that may generally be characterized as non-essential, luxury or decorative. The program is designed to assist victims with disaster recovery funds which have not been made available through governmental assistance insurance or private groups or which assistance was not adequate to meet serious needs and recovery expenses.

Direct grants for this program will not exceed $5,000.00 per application. This coincides with maximums established by the Individual and Family Grant Program used as a result of the 1987 flood disaster. Payment will be made on behalf of the eligible applicant to the vendor of his choice pursuant to a valid purchase order signed by the applicant and the vendor.
