Section 144-283-9 - PARENTAL REFUSAL OF THE SCREENING TESTS

A. In the instance of parental refusal of the screening tests on religious grounds, the parental refusal must be stated in writing and made a part of the infant's medical record.
B. The hospital or birthing center designee, midwife, and principal birthing attendant must ensure that the Department is notified in writing of the parental refusal within five days of the infant's birth, using the refusal form provided by the Department.
