The applicant shall secure the services of a qualified individual or consulting firm for the design of the treatment system. A licensed site evaluator may design subsurface treatment systems up to 2,000 gallons per day (gpd) in size. A professional engineer is required to design and prepare contract documents for subsurface wastewater disposal systems in excess of 2,000 gpd and for overboard discharge systems.
