A. Approved Methods. The official methods of analysis shall be the Majonnier, Babcock or any other method approved by the commissioner of agriculture.
B. Babcock Procedure. The sample shall be warmed to ram temperature (approximately 70° F) and mixed by pouring from one container to another four times. The remaining procedure shall be essentially the same as that for raw milk samples (§105. B) with the following exceptions.
1. The sulphuric acid shall be added in three
stages and mixed thoroughly after each stage.
2. Time in the centrifuge shall be extended
to seven, five and two minutes respectively for the first, second and third
stages in centrifuge.
3. Tests
shall be made in duplicate and the variation between the two shall not exceed
1/10 of 1 percent butterfat.
