Section V-2303 - Criteria for Acquiring Machinery, Equipment, and Facilities

A. The commission shall determine whether the acquisition of any machinery, equipment, or facility is necessary to aid in the proper and efficient assembling, processing, storing, grading, distributing, or marketing of farm products.
B. The commission shall also consider the following criteria in determining whether to acquire any machinery, equipment, or facility:
1. the
economic needs of the areas of the state in which the machinery, equipment, or
facility will be located;
2. the
number of jobs created or preserved in the state;
3. the amount of farm products produced in
the state that will be utilized;
4.
the degree of diversification that the machinery, equipment, or facility will
bring to the state's agricultural economy;
5. the economic stimulus that the use of the
machinery, equipment, or facility will provide to the local economy or to the
state's agricultural economy as a whole.
