A. Any authorized recipient who has access to motor vehicle records through a contract, permit, license, or other authorization issued by the department or any other agency that is a part of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, shall be governed by the rules contained in Subchapter B.
B.
1. The violation of any rule contained in
Subchapter B, or the violation of any provision of the DPPA by an authorized
recipient of motor vehicle records through a contract, permit, license or other
authorization issued by the department may serve as grounds for the initiation
of an administrative action to revoke, suspend or cancel any contract, permit,
license or other authorization issued by the department.
2. Such violation may also serve as grounds
for the initiation of an administrative action to impose a fine or other
penalty against such person.
