Section VII-121 - Drug Treatment Fund

A. Upon notification by the Department of the State Treasury that monies have become available in the Drug Treatment Fund for appropriation, the Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse shall follow the rules for solicitation of proposals and for the distribution of non-allocated funds ads outlined in Chapter 1, Section 119 which is published as a separate rule in this Louisiana Register. The solicitation of proposals will be for the provision of treatment, care and rehabilitation services for persons abusing controlled dangerous substances. The monies in the Drug Treatment Fund shall be appropriated annually by the legislature to be used solely to fund drug treatment and rehabilitation programs as follows:

1. ninety-five percent to the Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Human Services, to be distributed annually to state funded programs;

2. five percent to the Department of Revenue and Taxation for the cost of administration.

B. Accountability for monies appropriated to the Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse from the Drug Treatment Fund shall be in accordance with accepted standard accounting procedures for governmental agencies and contractors.
