A. Applicants. In accordance with R.S. 37:2410(6), the rules of this Subchapter specify additional qualifications, requirements and procedures for the licensing of the following individuals:
1.
foreign-educated physical
therapist (FEPT)-a person whose education in physical
therapy was obtained outside of a jurisdiction of the United States in a
program not accredited by CAPTE;
2.
foreign-educated physical therapist assistant
(FEPTA)-a person whose education in physical therapy was
obtained outside of a jurisdiction of the United States in a program not
accredited by CAPTE;
3.
military-trained physical therapist assistant
(MTPTA)-a person whose education in physical therapy was
obtained in a military program not accredited by CAPTE.
B. Foreign-educated applicants seeking initial licensure in the United States in Louisiana must obtain a provisional license and complete a period of supervised clinical practice prior to obtaining a permanent license.
