Section III-2305 - Essential Conditions Concerning 2-Year-Olds

A. In writing his condition book, the racing secretary shall respect these essential conditions.
1. No 2-year-olds shall compete in any race
with older horses prior to September 1 of any year.
2. No race for 2-year-olds prior to May 1 of
any year, shall be at a distance greater than 4 1/2 furlongs, and no race for
2-year-olds after September 15 of any year shall be at a distance less than 5
1/2 furlongs. Provided, however, this rule shall not apply to tracks which are
less than 1 mile in length.
