Section III-511 - Emission Reductions

A. The owner or operator of any source permitted under this Chapter shall submit a notification to the permitting authority prior to the initiation of any project which will result in emission reductions. The notification shall include a description of the proposed action, a location map, a description of the composition of air contaminants involved, the rate and temperature of the emissions, the identity of the sources involved and the change in emissions. The permitting authority may request additional information related to the reduction project. The permitting authority shall grant authorization to construct where consistent with LAC 33:III.501.C.3. The permitting authority shall notify the owner or operator of a determination regarding such authorization within 30 days of receiving the notification. Emission reduction projects at a Part 70 source may be processed as a state-only change provided the requirements of LAC 33:III.507.F are met. Any appropriate permit revision reflecting the emission reduction shall be made no later than 180 days after commencement of operation and in accordance with the procedures of this Chapter.
