Section III-1313 - Emissions from Fuel Burning Equipment

A. Purpose. The purpose of this Subchapter shall be to limit the quantity of particulate matter emitted from fuel burning equipment.
B. Scope. This Subchapter applies to fuel burning installations utilized for the primary purpose of producing steam, hot water, hot air or other indirect heating of liquids, gases, or solids where the products of combustion do not have direct contact with process materials. Fuel includes coal, coke, lignite, coke breeze, fuel oil, wood, or other fuels. When any products or by-products of a manufacturing process are burned for the same purpose or in conjunction with any fuel, the same maximum emission limitations shall apply.
C. Limitations. No person shall cause, suffer, allow or permit the emission of particulate matter to the atmosphere from any fuel burning equipment in excess of 0.6 pounds per 106 Btu of heat input.
