A. Students will demonstrate the ability to advocate personal, family, and community health.

B. Benchmarks 5-8. By the end of grades 5-8 level students should know and be able to:

develop strategies to encourage and influence others in making positive health choices (e.g., healthy food choices, abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drug use, etc.);

analyze various communication methods to accurately express health ideas and opinions;

identify barriers to effective communication about health issues; and

(2,3,4)

6-M-4

demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively when advocating for healthy individuals, families, and schools.
