A. Students will demonstrate individual and interpersonal communication skills necessary to enhance health.

B. Benchmarks K-4. By the end of the K-4 level, students should know and be able to:

demonstrate healthy ways to communicate needs, wants, and feelings through verbal and non-verbal communication;

demonstrate ways to communicate care, consideration, and respect of self and others;

apply a decision-making process to address personal health issues and problems;

demonstrate refusal skills to enhance health;

demonstrate non-violent strategies to resolve conflicts; and

establish personal health goals and track progress toward its achievement.
