A. Gain understanding of place value.
1. Understand that the numbers 11-19 are
composed of 10 ones and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 ones.
2. Compose and decompose numbers 11 to 19
using place value (e.g., by using objects or drawings).
3. Record each composition or decomposition
using a drawing or equation (e.g., 18 is 1 ten and 8 ones, 18=1 ten + 8 ones,
18=10 + 8).
