Section 49-50-11 - Condemned boilers and pressure vessels

Any boiler or pressure vessel that is inspected and declared unfit for further service by the chief inspector or deputy inspector shall be stamped by the inspector with an arrowhead stamp having an overall length of 1/2 inch and width of 3/8 inch on either side of the letters "XXX" and the letters of the state, as shown by the following facsimile: XXX KXXX. Each condemned boiler or pressure vessel shall be immediately taken out of service by shutting off the boiler's or pressure vessel's source of energy, followed by total disconnection of gas, electrical, and system piping. Any person, firm, partnership, or corporation installing or using a condemned boiler or pressure vessel within this state shall be subject to the penalties provided by K.S.A. 44-925, and amendments thereto.
