Section 28-45a-3 - Well conversions and reentry

(a) The conversion of an existing well to underground natural gas storage shall be prohibited if the well was not originally designed for the underground storage of natural gas, unless the secretary determines that the conversion is protective of public health, safety, and the environment.

(b) The conversion of an underground natural gas storage well for other purposes shall be prohibited, unless the secretary determines that the conversion is protective of public health, safety, and the environment.

(c) The reentry of a plugged underground natural gas storage well for the purpose of reactivating activities associated with the underground storage of natural gas or liquid hydrocarbons shall be prohibited.
