Section 28-35-214b - Compliance with dose limits for individual members of the public

(a) The licensee or registrant shall make or cause to be made surveys of radiation levels in unrestricted and controlled areas and radioactive materials in effluents released to unrestricted and controlled areas to demonstrate compliance with the dose limits for individual members of the public in K.A.R. 28-35-214a.
(b) A licensee or registrant shall show compliance with the annual dose limit in K.A.R. 28-35-214a by:
(c) Upon approval from the department, the licensee or registrant may adjust the effluent concentration values in appendix B, table II published in "Kansas Department of Health and Environment Appendices to Part 4: Standards for Protection Against Radiation," effective April, 1994, for members of the public, to take into account the actual physical and chemical characteristics of the effluents, including aerosol size distribution, solubility, density, radioactive decay equilibrium, and chemical form.
