Section 28-35-213b - Dose to an embryo or fetus

(a) Each licensee or registrant shall ensure that the dose to an embryo or fetus during the entire pregnancy, due to occupational exposure of a declared pregnant woman, does not exceed 5 mSv (0.5 rem).
(b) Each licensee or registrant shall make efforts to avoid substantial variation above a uniform monthly exposure rate to a declared pregnant woman in order to satisfy the limit in subsection (a).
(c) The dose to an embryo or fetus shall be the sum of the following:
(d) If by the time the woman declares pregnancy to the licensee or registrant, the dose to the embryo or fetus has exceeded 4.5 mSv (0.45 rem), the licensee or registrant shall be deemed to be in compliance with subsection (a) if the additional dose to the embryo or fetus does not exceed 0.50 mSv (0.05 rem) during the remainder of the pregnancy.
