Section 28-35-135q - Definitions

As used in these regulations, each of the following terms shall have the meaning assigned in this regulation:
(a) "Qualified expert" means an individual having the knowledge and training to measure ionizing radiation, to evaluate safety techniques, and to advise regarding radiation protection needs.
(b) "Quality factor (Q)" means the modifying factor, as listed in tables I and II in K.A.R. 28-35-144a, used to derive the dose equivalent from the absorbed dose.
(c) "Quarter" means a period of time that is equal to one-fourth of the year and is approximately 13 consecutive weeks. The beginning of the first quarter in each year shall coincide with the starting date of the year, and no day shall be omitted or duplicated in consecutive quarters.
