Section 112-16-8 - Presiding officer

(a) The chief steward or racing judge or chairman of the commission or another person designated by the hearing body may be the presiding officer.

(b) For stewards' and racing judges' hearings, if a substitute is required for a presiding officer or other member of the hearing body who is unavailable for any reason, the executive director may appoint a substitute. Any action taken by the duly appointed substitute is as effective as if taken by the unavailable member.
