Rule 641-99.11 - Correction or Amendment to a Certificate of Marriage

(1) The request to correct a certificate of marriage during the first year may be made by the county registrar that issued the license to marry. The written request shall be submitted to the state registrar with supporting evidence.

(2) The request to correct or amend a certificate of marriage may be made by either of the parties married. The written request shall be submitted to the state registrar with supporting evidence.

(3) An order from a court of competent jurisdiction is required to correct or amend a legal name after marriage.
