Rule 641-154.48 - Requirements of a Laboratory

(1) Minimum testing requirements. A laboratory shall establish and implement test methods and corresponding standard operating procedures for the analyses of cannabinoids, residual solvents and processing chemicals, pesticides, microbiological impurities, and metals and other analyses as requested by the department.

(2) Level of quantitation. A laboratory shall be able to demonstrate that its level of quantitation (LOQ) is below any action level established by the department.

(3) Inventory tracking. A laboratory shall record the following:

a. The receipt of medical cannabidiol from a manufacturer for testing.

b. The return of medical cannabidiol or waste to a manufacturer.

(4) Hazardous waste disposal. A laboratory shall do the following when dealing with hazardous waste:

a. Discard hazardous waste, including hazardous waste containing medical cannabis goods, in accordance with federal and state hazardous waste laws.

b. Document the waste disposal procedures followed for each sample.
