Following the filing of the statement of charges and notice of hearing, the office of the attorney general will be responsible for the legal representation of the public interest in all proceedings before the board. The assistant attorney general assigned to prosecute a contested case before the board will not represent the board in that case but will represent the public interest. All other parties to a proceeding before the board will be entitled to have counsel at their own expense.
