Rule 481-68.19 - Staffing

In addition to the general starring requirements in rule 481-67.9 (231B,231C,231D), the following requirements apply to staffing in programs.

(1) The program shall be staffed by an on-site manager 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

(2) Personal care providers shall have completed, at minimum, a home care aide training program that meets the requirements and criteria established in 641-Chapter 80.

(3) The owner or management corporation of the program is responsible for ensuring that all personnel employed by or contracting with the program receive training appropriate to assigned tasks and target population.

(4) Personal care providers and nursing staff may be employed by the program or obtained through a contract with a home health agency or other service provider. Regardless of the source, the staff must meet all applicable requirements.

(5) The program shall notify the department in writing within ten business days of a change in the program's manager.
