Rule 481-57.46 - Family visits

Each resident, if married, shall be ensured privacy for visits by the resident's spouse; if both are residents in the facility, they shall be permitted to share a room, if available. (II)

(1) The facility shall provide for needed privacy in visits between spouses. (II)

(2) Spouses who are residents in the same facility shall be permitted to share a room, if available, unless one of their attending physicians documents in the medical record those specific reasons why such an arrangement would have an adverse effect on the health of the resident. (II)

(3) Family members shall be permitted to share a room, if available, if requested by both parties, unless one of their attending physicians documents in the medical record those specific reasons why such an agreement would have an adverse effect on the health of the resident. (II)
