Chapter 41 - Psychiatric Medical Institutions for Children (PMIC)
Rule 481-41.3 - Renewal Application or Change of Ownership

In order to renew a license or change ownership of the psychiatric medical institution for children, the applicant must submit to the department:
1. A completed application form 30 days before the renewal date or before the date of the ownership change; and
2. The PMIC license fee.
(1)
Denial, suspension or
revocation of a license. The department may deny, suspend or revoke a
PMIC license for any of the reasons set forth in Iowa Code section
135H.8.
The department will issue notice of denial, suspension or revocation by certified mail or by personal service.
(2)
Appeal process. When a
license is denied, revoked or suspended, a hearing may be requested pursuant to
481-subrule 50.5(2) and shall be conducted pursuant to rule
481-50.6 (10A). During the
appeal process, the status of a license shall remain as it was on the date the
hearing was requested. The status shall not change until a final decision is
rendered by the department.
This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code sections 135H.8 and 135H.9.
