Rule 481-30.6 - Returned Checks

If a check intended to pay for any license provided for under Iowa Code chapter 137C or 137F is not honored for payment by the bank on which it is drafted, the department will attempt to redeem the check. The department will notify the applicant of the need to provide sufficient payment. An additional fee of $25 shall be assessed for each dishonored check. If the department does not receive cash to replace the check, the establishment will be operating without a valid license. Furthermore, any late penalties assessed pursuant to rule 481-30.5 (137F) will accrue and must be paid.

This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code sections 137C.9 and 137F.6.
