Iowa Code section 68A.401A requires the board to adopt a procedure for 527 Committees that file reports with the Internal Revenue Service and engage in issue advocacy in Iowa to file copies of those reports with the board. If a 527 Committee notifies the board that it is filing reports with the Internal Revenue Service, the 527 Committee will be deemed in compliance with Iowa Code section 68A.401A. The board will then establish on its Web site a link to the reports filed with the Internal Revenue Service, or the board will otherwise post on its Web site the reports filed with the Internal Revenue Service.

This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code section 68A.401A.
