Chapter 22 - Authorizations
Rule 282-22.4 - Licenses-issue Dates, Corrections, Duplicates, Fraud, and Reciprocity

(1) Issue date on original authorization. An authorization is valid only from and after the date of issuance.

(2) Correcting authorization. If an applicant notifies board staff of a typographical or clerical error on the authorization within 30 days of the date of the board's mailing of an authorization, a corrected authorization shall be issued without charge to the applicant. If notification of a typographical or clerical error is made more than 30 days after the date of the board's mailing of an authorization, a corrected authorization shall be issued upon receipt of the fee for issuance of a duplicate authorization. For purposes of this rule, typographical or clerical errors include misspellings, errors in the expiration date of an authorization, or errors in the type of authorization issued.

(3) Duplicate authorization. Upon application and payment of the fee set out in 282-Chapter 12, a duplicate authorization shall be issued.

(4) Fraud in procurement or renewal of authorization. Fraud in procurement or renewal of an authorization or falsifying records for authorization purposes will constitute grounds for filing a complaint with the board of educational examiners.

(5) Reciprocity. Applicants who hold a license, certificate, or authorization under this chapter from at least one other issuing jurisdiction in another state will not be subject to additional coursework if the following requirements have been met:

a. The applicant holds a valid or expired equivalent license in good standing from another state without pending disciplinary action, exclusive of a temporary or emergency certificate.

b. The applicant provides verification of passing the mandated assessment(s) in the state in which the applicant is currently licensed, if applicable.
