The purpose of the historic site preservation grant program is to provide matching grants to nonprofit organizations, governmental bodies, and Indian tribes for the restoration, preservation, and development of historical sites.
The state historical society of Iowa, the historical division of the Iowa department of cultural affairs, shall administer the historic site preservation grant program.
