Rule 21-64.49 - Certified Brucellosis-free Herd

In order to qualify a herd of cattle as brucellosis-free and receive a certificate evidencing same, the owner thereof shall Cornply with the following requirements:
(1) Certified brucellosis-free herd. A herd may qualify for initial certification by a minimum of three consecutive negative milk ring tests (B.R.T.) conducted at not less than 90-day intervals, followed by a negative herd blood test conducted within 90 days after the last negative milk ring test; or at least two consecutive negative blood tests not less than 10 months nor more than 14 months apart. A herd may qualify for recertification by a negative blood test within 60 days of each anniversary date, and the certification period being 12 months. If recertification is not conducted within 60 days following the anniversary date, then certification requirements are the same for initial certification.
(2) Additions to certified herds.
