Rule 21-64.25 - Control and Prevention of Rabies

(1) Antirahies vaccine.
a.
Vaccines and immunization procedures reCornmended in the Cornpendium of Animal
Rabies Vaccines prepared by the National Association of Public Health
Veterinarians, Inc. are approved by the Iowa department of agriculture and land
stewardship.
b. Reserved.
(2) Tag and certificate.
a. The veterinarian
shall issue a tag with the numerical number thereon and the certificate of
vaccination shall designate the tag number
b. Each rabies vaccination certificate issued
by the veterinarian must be an Official Rabies Vaccination Certificate approved
by the Iowa department of agriculture and land stewardship.
This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code section 351.35.
