Rule 21-43.21 - Minimum Requirements for Registration of Fertilizer and Soil Conditioners

(1) Fertilizer and soil conditioners submitted for registration may be required to be tested for a minimum of two growing seasons in at least three Iowa crop reporting districts in accordance with standards for efficacy testing. The results of testing shall be reviewed by the secretary's pesticide and fertilizer advisory Cornmittee. The testing requirement may be waived if research has been conducted with crops and under conditions relevant to the state of Iowa. The secretary's pesticide and fertilizer advisory Cornmittee may require the applicant for registration to submit an economic or environmental impact statement.

(2) Applications for registration shall include methods of laboratory analysis of products used for achieving results consistent with the label guarantee.

This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code sections 200.5 and 200.14.
