Rule 17-22.15 - Contesting the Actions of a Guardian or Conservator

(1) Consumers who wish to contest the actions of a guardian or conservator may express their concerns to the state office in writing or verbally.
(2) Within two working days of receipt of the concern, the state office shall notify the consumer of its decision to uphold or change the course of action taken by the guardian or conservator. The state office shall notify the consumer both verbally and in writing.
(3) The state office shall explain to the consumer, in a manner that the consumer fully understands, that the consumer has the right to counsel and the right to appeal the state office's decision pursuant to 17-Chapter 13.
