Section 6-12 - Amateur mixed martial artist insurance coverage

Sec. 12.
(a) The promoter of an event must obtain:
(1) medical
benefit coverage for each amateur mixed martial artist participating in a bout
in an amount not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), which shall provide
for medical, surgical, and hospital care for injuries sustained by the amateur
mixed martial artist while participating in the bout; and
(2) accidental death benefit coverage for
each amateur mixed martial artist participating in a bout in an amount not less
than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), which shall be paid to the amateur mixed
martial artist's estate in the event of the amateur mixed martial artist's
death resulting from participation in the bout.
(b) Deductibles for the required medical and accidental death benefit coverage must be paid by the promoter.
(c) The promoter must submit proof to the sanctioning body, by the deadline established by the sanctioning body, that the required medical and accidental death benefit coverage required under this section has been obtained for each amateur mixed martial artist participating in a bout.
