Section 1-13 - "Cash equivalent" defined

Sec. 13.

"Cash equivalent" means an asset that is readily convertible to cash, including the following:

(1) Traveler's checks.

(2) Certified checks, cashier's checks, and money orders.

(3) Personal checks.

(4) Credit extended by the casino licensee or by a recognized credit card company.

(5) Any other instrument that the commission deems a cash equivalent.

Other than recognized credit cards or credit extended by the casino licensee, all instruments that constitute a cash equivalent must be made payable to the casino licensee, bearer, or cash. If an instrument is made payable to a third party, it shall not be deemed a cash equivalent.
