Sec. 26.

When performing strength calculations (e.g. minimum required thickness, design pressure or design temperature, remaining useful life) for components of boilers or unfired pressure vessels, a factor of safety lower than that allowed by the edition of the original code of construction (in order to provide allowable stress values exceeding those values specified by the edition of the original code of construction) may not be used.
